Zukiswa Wanner launched her latest book, Hardly Working: A Travel Memoir of Sorts, in Johannesburg at African Flavour Books recently, in conversation with one-half of the Cheeky Natives.
During the conversation, Wanner described a moment that all authors dream of: encountering a copy of her book in the wild, being read by someone she didn’t know. But this was in Johannesburg, after all—where taxi passengers don’t put up with nonsense—and South Africa, after all—where the streets writers walk on are paved with anything but gold.
