Since the publication of City Editor Niq Mhlongo’s latest work of short stories, Soweto, Under the Apricot Tree, it has become fashionable to have oneself photographed reading the book under—well, if an apricot tree is not available, any tree will do.

We asked Mhlongo for a picture of this fabled tree and he sent one in from a few years back.
